Decent sized nugs in the bag, with a majority of them being a thin, tall pine-pine-tree like structure. The smell smacks you right when you crack it open; a strong lemon zest with just a hint of floral wood wafting behind it. A very sativa looking as far as the coloration is concerned; bright-light-green with tightly packed orange hairs growing within the nooks and crannies of the buds and some mid-level trichome coverage. Not too wet, but nowhere near dry, this one is jusst right. Definitely my kind of bud.
Very light and refreshing when pulling from the bong. Right off the bat, this strain is making itself known in the head. The growing tingling seems to be spreading from the center of my brain out through the top of my skull. I am struck with imagery of the goddess Athena birthed out of Zeus’ being, like a plant out of soil. It is certainly an energetic experience. But, with that, the energy itself possesses a bit of … personality. It’s silly. Goofy even. I have been propelled fully into a down right silly-goose mood.
Along with the burst of energy, this does have a certain contemplative nature. Even as I sit and wail on the drum kit to try and get some use out of these effects, I find myself slipping into a deep internal dialogue. However, this dichotomy does not seem to be at the cost of one or the other. It’s as though both functions have been placed neatly in their own boxes, and I am left beyond them, juggling both. That being said, the intensity of the head high is peaking. Not quite in the way that I tend to find uncomfortable, but it gets close to that point.
As the strain begins to fade away, there is a bit of a foggy haze lagging behind. A lot of that is felt in the head, with the body remaining relatively unaffected. I suspect that some of this worn-out feeling could be attributed to how steep of a high that the experience brought to me, even a full hour into it. Additionally, and rather pleasantly, I am left feeling more or less spared from any kind of munchy-like symptoms. Speaking as someone who prefers indicas, I must say I am very impressed with how well this sativa treated me. Hamilton has delivered, in my humble opinion, a solid showing of a classic strain with this Panama Red.
